East Knox Middle School Graduation

Class of 2016

I just wanted to dedicate a post to the class of 2016 for making it through. Most of us have been together since kindergarten. So every year you could count on everyone being there. These years in Middle School have been the best anyone can have. It couldn't have been that without you!!!! Lets make High School the best year anyone has ever had, and lets do it together. So congratulations Class of 2016, WE MADE IT!!!!!!!

A special shout out goes to all the teachers that have helped us through our 4 years here at the middle school. Music: Paramore

Paramore is one of my favorite music groups of all time! I first heard them on Twilight. They had 2 songs on the sound track, which are "Decode" and "Caught Myself". Other songs include "Emergency", "Pressure", and "Brick By Boring Brick". The lead singer is Halley Williams, who teamed up with B.O.B. in "Airplanes". They have three very known albums: All We Know Is Falling, RIOT!, and Brand New Eyes. The band started in 2006, and is still together. I'm going to list some of their other songs and you guys can youtube and take a listen if you like.

Movies: The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games

            The movie is based on a best selling book series by Suzanne Collins. The movie was released March 23, 2012. The movie is based on Katniss Everdeen, who volunteers as tribute when her young sister is chosen.The setting is based in a post-apocalyptic world in Panem which was once the country of North America. The Capitol holds hegemony over the rest of the nation. The Hunger Games is an annual fight to the death until one remains. One girl and one boy, ages 12 to 18 are chosen to compete from each of the twelve districts surrounding the Capitol. Peeta Mellark is the boy chosen from district twelve. During the time before the start of The Hunger Games, Peeta confesses his love for Katniss, even though one of them has to die. Will love prevail? Or will all be lost by the cruel nature that is The Hunger Games?

New Music

Today, this post is going to talk about the band One Direction. Their song You Don't Know Your Beautiful I think is awesome. I encourage everyone to youtube it and at least listen to thirty seconds of it. Leave a comment after you listen to it. Not before.

New Posting Strategy

From now on we will discuss anything we feel like talking about with me or others who follow my blog. I will post 3 to 4 posts a week talking about different topics in our everyday lives. I will fix the discussion topics located on my blog shortly. I hope everyone has a fun blog filled week.

Vampire Books (Continued)

The next series I'm going to post about is The Vampire Academy books. They are by Richelle Mead and are an awesome read! Its about the secret society of Moroi vampires who are the living vampires and who posses magic from the five elements. The books are told from the view point of 17 year-old Rosemarie(Rose) Hathaway, a dhampir who is studying at St. Vladamirs Academy how to defend her best friend moroi princess Vasilisa(Lissa) Dragomir. This means learning how to kill the undead vampires called Strigoi.In the process of studying she falls in a forbidden romance with her instructor Dimitri Belikov. There are 6 books in the series which include Vampire Academy, Frostbite, Shadow Kiss, Blood Promise, Spirit Bound, and Last Sacrifice.

Vampire Books of the past 4 years

                     Alright, you are probably wondering why I'm posting about  Vampire books. Well here it is, since nobody e-mailed me topics to talk about, I'm posting about something I like. So if you want me to stop with the vampire posts, than e-mail me a topic you want to talk about.

The first vampire series I'm going to talk about is The House of Night series by P.C. and Kristin Cast. The books are Marked, Betrayed, Chosen, Untamed, Hunted, Tempted, Burned, Awakened, Destined, and Hidden. Hidden hasn't been released, or has yet to have a release date.  They also came out with The Fledgling Handbook, which the students in the book use during their change into a Vampyre. They have also come out with 2 novellas: Dragons Oath, and Lenobia's Vow. One novella has yet to be released which is Neferet's Curse.

I encourage everyone to read the series. I own all the main books, the handbook, and an additional book on the mythology of Nyx: Goddess of Night and Vampyres. I will say though, I have found that after Tempted, you have to force yourself through the rest. I haven't even finished Destined and I got it around Christmas. But I would say at least read the first book, and if you don't like it then don't read the other books.

I have noticed that no one is e-mailing me new questions to ask. I say don't be shy and please e-mail me. For those of you that aren't in band I will post any question you want here on my blog. That includes Hannah, Andrew, and since she is quitting band, Maddie.

E-MAIL MEEEE

French Horn

French Horn is actually not french. It has 3 keys and is in concert F. With only 3 keys, it is very difficult to play a variety of notes. I've had up to 5 different notes on 1 key. This instrument is awesome and I love it very much!!!

Clarinet

The clarinet is a b flat instrument along with the trumpet. It has 7 main tone holes, and I don't know how many keys. The clarinet is also a marching instrument and we currently have 3 clarinets in 8th grade concert band.

How many instruments have you learned to play since you started?
I know a lot of you either don't play or you've stuck with the instrument you started with. For me I started on Trumpet, switched to french horn, and then had to learn melophone because its the marching form of a french horn. So leave your comments below and let me know.
