I have noticed that no one is e-mailing me new questions to ask. I say don't be shy and please e-mail me. For those of you that aren't in band I will post any question you want here on my blog. That includes Hannah, Andrew, and since she is quitting band, Maddie.

French Horn

French Horn is actually not french. It has 3 keys and is in concert F. With only 3 keys, it is very difficult to play a variety of notes. I've had up to 5 different notes on 1 key. This instrument is awesome and I love it very much!!!

Clarinet

This instrument is played by my best friend Maddie Murray who also has a book blog at youngauthor-maddiemurray.blogspot.com!

The clarinet is a b flat instrument along with the trumpet. It has 7 main tone holes, and I don't know how many keys. The clarinet is also a marching instrument and we currently have 3 clarinets in 8th grade concert band.

How many instruments have you learned to play since you started?
I know a lot of you either don't play or you've stuck with the instrument you started with. For me I started on Trumpet, switched to french horn, and then had to learn melophone because its the marching form of a french horn. So leave your comments below and let me know.

Discussion: Why Marching Band is a good expirence

From personal experience I know marching band would be a great thing to do at least for one season. I really enjoyed going to band camp and playing on the field but really, its up to you. It also takes dedication, because you have to learn your music and learn the drill that goes with it. So if you cant dedicate some time to your music and drill, than I don't suggest you join because you will get way behind. This year was my first year marching and  I am doing it next year. So post your comments below and discuss what good and bad things can come with doing marching band.
